Bangkok, the bustling capital of Thailand, is a city where ancient culture meets modern innovation. From Nov 7 - 13, Bangkok will be the center of the web3 universe when LabWeek convenes, bringing together thousands of builders. Here’s everything you need to know about the exciting week.

VENUE
LabWeek Web3 will take place all over Bangkok. The conference will run alongside Devcon at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center.
Transportation
Bangkok has a variety of public transportation options, including the BTS Skytrain, MRT subway, and river ferries. Ride-sharing apps such as Grab are also popular. Be mindful of traffic, which can be heavy, and plan your travels accordingly.
Weather
November in Bangkok is generally warm and pleasant, with daytime temperatures ranging from 25°C (77°F) to 31°C (88°F). It’s advisable to bring light, breathable clothing and an umbrella, as there might be occasional showers.
Market Hours
Markets in Bangkok usually open early in the morning around 6:00 AM and close in the evening around 10:00 PM. Major shopping malls are generally open from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM.
Currency
The Thai baht (THB). As of July 27, USD $1 is equivalent to roughly 32 baht. Be sure to check the latest conversion rates before your trip.

Getting Around
Bangkok traffic can be hectic, so public transportation is often the best way to get around. The BTS Skytrain and MRT subway systems are well-developed and user-friendly, making them the most recommended options for avoiding congestion.

Bangkok is served by two major international airports:

The main international gateway, located about 18 miles (30 km) east of the city center.

Don Mueang Airport (DMK)
Primarily serving low-cost airlines and domestic flights, located about 15 miles (24 km) north of the city center.
Cabs
Taxis from Suvarnabhumi Airport take about 45 minutes to an hour to reach the city center and cost around 300-500 THB. Make sure the taximeter is turned on. From Don Mueang Airport, the travel time is similar and costs around 200-400 THB.

Visa
Many nationalities can enter Thailand for tourism purposes without a visa for up to 30 days. Visa requirements are based on your country of citizenship and can be checked via Thailand E-Visa.

There are vaccine recommendations for Thailand, especially if you are traveling to smaller cities or rural areas, or if you are an adventurous eater trying street food. Please consult a travel medicine specialist or your healthcare provider about 4-6 weeks before your trip.

Some network centered events will be planned around the Phrom Phong BTS station in the vibrant Em District! While there are many great neighborhoods around Bangkok, we're excited to build a strong PL presence in this area, with plenty of nearby options for everyone to enjoy.

Here's what to expect: 

  • We'll have a co-working space, an opening party, and nightly PL socials, all within a 5-10 minute walk
  • It's just 5 minutes from the Phrom Phong BTS station and close to Devcon (an 8 minute drive if the traffic is manageable)
  • EmQuartier and Emporium often host art exhibitions and cultural showcases, adding a dynamic artistic vibe to the district
  • This area offers a variety of dining, shopping, and entertainment options
  • It's also near Benchasiri Park, a peaceful escape from the bustling commercial area, perfect for a walk, jog, or relaxing break
